Current Events and Comprehension
There are many ways kids can be informed and stay "in the now" with the world events. Many kids may not choose to watch the news, but are constantly hearing about world and community events through radio, social media, and of course the conversations people are having around them. In some cases, kids can be misinformed or share a view about a topic that they may have heard only once.

DOGO News is a site for kids to read current event news article on many different topics including science, sports, entertainment, etc. Students can read an article and answer the Article Comprehension questions that follow it. I would also encourage the Critical Thinking Challenge at the end of the article they choose.
